McCain blew it. Obama is an empty suit with strings - great speech maker.

An old and true saying is that a man is judged by the company he keeps. Who does Obama keep company with? McCain needs to let people know - the network news does not (Wright, Rezko and Ayers, ...). Where is your spine McCain? 

At the end of the debate, which I was listening to on the radio while I was driving for conducting business, McCain had a great opportunity. The question was what you do not know. He could have quoted Will Rogers:

     It isn't what we don't know that gives us trouble, it's what we know that ain't so.

Then say again all the things that Obama has said that ain't so, such as the surge will not work or that he will use of his time as president to talk without preconditions to the want to be Hitlers. Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it - remember Neville Chamberlain? Character and judgment matter. Who would Obama choose for his team in the White House?

John McCain has a reputation as a straight shooter and an honest man. Character and judgment matter. The parts of the debate that I heard did not show that character. There is only one candidate on the two tickets that figuratively speaking seems to have any gonads, and that one does not have any that are physically visible.
